Rock the South’s move to Decatur leaves Cullman facing major revenue loss

CULLMAN, Ala. — Rock the South, the annual country music festival that bills itself as the “Biggest Party in the South,” is leaving its birthplace for a new permanent home in Decatur, and the City of Cullman is left figuring out how to replace the revenue that came with it.

The festival, produced by Peachtree Entertainment, is relocating to a new venue called The Fields at Decatur, roughly 45 minutes north of Cullman, where it has been held for almost 15 years.

Officials and staff at Peachtree Entertainment cite longstanding logistical challenges at the previous site, including persistent mud problems, limited shade structures and insufficient parking for RVs and personal vehicles.
