HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The City of Huntsville has again earned the nation’s highest credit ratings, with Moody’s Investors Service assigning an Aaa rating and Standard & Poor’s Rating Services giving a AAA rating.
Officials say these ratings come as Huntsville continues to attract historic projects, including Eli Lilly and Company’s $6 billion investment announced in December, the FBI training facility’s $2 billion local contribution, and the U.S. Space Command relocation, which further cements the city as a hub for defense and aerospace industries.
“We are proud to maintain our elite credit ratings, which demonstrate that the City is a careful steward of taxpayer money,” Mayor Tommy Battle said. “That is a responsibility that we never take lightly. We are also grateful for the private investments made in Huntsville that not only provide jobs but contribute to the quality of life for all residents.”…
