Two mothers grieve sons killed at same Beltline intersection in Decatur

DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) – A 10-year-old boy was laid to rest Thursday, six months after another man was killed at the same intersection that is the focus of a safety improvement study in Decatur.

CJ Bone’s funeral came as the mother of Houston Terry spoke out about the need for changes at the intersection to prevent more deaths.

Shaun Terry Shelton said she was on the phone with her son the day of the wreck. He told her he would call her back in 30 minutes because he was getting on his motorcycle to drive home from work. Twenty-two minutes later, the first 911 call was made…
