Residents invited to comment on US-72 East safety project in Madison County

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Alabama Department of Transportation is accepting public comments on a proposed safety improvement project along a six-mile stretch of US-72 East in Madison County, with more than two weeks remaining for residents to weigh in.

The project runs from Shields Road (near the Trailhead development) to Brock Road and targets safety concerns at 15 intersections and multiple access points along the corridor. Planned modifications include changes to intersections, median crossovers, and driveways, all aimed at reducing the risk of crashes along the heavily traveled route.

ALDOT is encouraging residents, commuters, and business owners along the corridor to review the proposed changes and submit feedback before the comment period closes. Public involvement materials and comment submission are available online at aldotinvolved.com…
