MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – An early morning wildfire near Killingsworth Cove is mostly contained, according to the spokesperson for a responding fire department.
Captain Nathan Aston with Killingsworth Cove Volunteer Fire Department told News 19 that a nearby homeowner called around 2 a.m. They said they believed the woods were on fire.
Aston said that two acres of landscaping debris burned, and the fire spread due to poor fire conditions. He also said that, as of 6:30 a.m., the fire is roughly 95% contained.
