ARAB, Ala. (WHNT) — The City of Arab recovered more than $431,000 after a legitimate payment for a city construction project was fraudulently redirected to an unauthorized bank account, city officials announced Monday.
Mayor Bob Joslin said $431,818.51 has been recovered following a sophisticated scheme in which a fraudulent party impersonated a representative of FITE Building Company. The payment was authorized for work performed on the city’s new Recreation Center.
