HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Qahwtea Coffee is the latest addition to University Drive and it’s reinventing the local bakery game. From food to decor, everything is inspired by centuries of Yemeni culture and Middle Eastern flavors.
Walking into Qahwtea is like stepping into a different world. Immediately, you’ll notice the serene sound of waterfalls and gold writing adorning the walls. Co-owner Mohamed Alduais explained that the alphabet pays homage to his family’s roots.
“It’s the ancient, pre-Arabic script that was used in southern Arabia, specifically in Yemen,” Alduais said. “It represents basically our heritage, just like the coffee.”…
