On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, Huntsville police officers responded to a call at Memorial Parkway shortly after 1 p.m. A 4-month-old infant had stopped breathing.
Officers performed life-saving measures on the scene before the baby was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
According to a preliminary investigation, 34-year-old Huntsville resident Mickele Kaipolai Ah-Nee was with the infant when she stopped breathing. Given those circumstances, HPD’s Major Crimes Unit took over the case and ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death…
