Contract nurse charged with promoting contraband at Alabama prison

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — A contract nurse is facing charges after a contraband investigation early Saturday morning at an Alabama prison.

According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, the incident happened around 6:50 a.m. on May 2 at Limestone Correctional Facility during routine entry screening.

Officials say a K-9 unit alerted on Ashleigh Maxwell as she entered the facility. Officers then conducted a search and reported finding 12 Oxycodone pills, which were immediately confiscated…
