Hartselle to host community meeting on new library, event venue plans

The City of Hartselle will host a community engagement meeting May 5 to review and discuss plans for the William Bradford Huie Public Library and Event Venue, a project aimed at expanding learning, connection and community life.

The meeting will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. at 611 Chestnut St. NW, Hartselle.

A project team is already in place, according to city leaders. After a thorough selection process, the city engaged Lathan McKee Architects to lead the design and Fite Building Company to serve as construction manager. Officials said bringing construction expertise into the design process early is intended to help ensure the project stays on schedule, on budget and aligned with community needs…
