HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – More people 55 and older are falling victim to scams, according to new data from the Better Business Bureau.
The data shows scams involving these victims are up about 10 percent since 2023. The BBB says this group of people is online more, making them easier targets for scammers.
Rise in imposter scams
Officials say they’re also seeing a rise in imposter scams, like fake calls claiming someone missed jury duty or impersonating Social Security and Medicare.
AARP Alabama says scammers are getting more aggressive.
Crypto kiosk scams
