Marshall County Sheriff’s Office animal control team sees busy start with 165 calls

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. — The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office says its new animal control team has gotten off to a busy start since taking over duties earlier this year, responding to 165 calls so far.

Deputy Chase Patterson and assistant Cherokee Copeland make up the team handling animal-related calls across the county and smaller towns that do not have their own animal control services. Their work includes reports of dog bites, animal cruelty, loose animals, livestock complaints, welfare checks and investigations that can lead to arrests when needed.
