HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Local food banks are responding after nearly 50,000 Alabamians were dropped from the SNAP Food Assistance program.
Advocates say that Alabama could be on track to lose up to 100,000 people off SNAP benefits by the end of this year.

“It’s unthinkable, and it’s not even the worst that’s yet to come if changes aren’t made,” said Laura Lester, the CEO of Feeding Alabama.
