MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – Madison County Sheriff’s Office detectives and federal postal inspectors are investigating a fraud case involving fake U.S. Postal Service money orders that investigators say were cashed at Redstone Federal Credit Union branches across the county.
Investigators said they received a complaint April 23 from Redstone Federal Credit Union about a member, Tylasia Scott. Detectives said Scott cashed seven money orders at multiple locations, and the money orders were later found to be fake. Authorities said the cash total was nearly $7,000.
Scott was arrested and charged with seven counts of possession of a forged instrument, second degree, according to the sheriff’s office.
