Man injured after vehicle rolls over him, utility pole collapses onto car in Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Emergency crews responded to an incident over the weekend after a vehicle rolled over a man who was working on a car in Limestone County.

The East Limestone Volunteer Fire Department (ELVFD) said that the incident took place on May Lane on Saturday, around 2:16 p.m. According to ELVFD, the vehicle came off the jack stand while the man was working on the car and proceeded to roll over him.

Officials said that the vehicle continued to roll down the driveway and hit a utility pole, which snapped in half and fell on top of the vehicle. Upon arrival, crews noticed active power lines and worked alongside EMS, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, and Athens Utilities to secure the scene.

ELVFD told News 19 that the man was treated on the scene by medical personnel. The man was transported to an area hospital by an ambulance. The scene was controlled by ELVFD until Athens Utilities could secure utilities…
