HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A monthlong drug investigation led to the arrest of a Huntsville man and the seizure of more than a kilogram of fentanyl authorities say was headed for North Alabama communities.
The North Alabama Drug Task Force, working with Region F of the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force, arrested 45-year-old Michael Fitts of Huntsville on Friday, May 8. He is charged with trafficking fentanyl.
Investigators say agents were tracking large-scale narcotics distribution in the region when they stopped Fitts while he was transporting about 1.035 kilograms of fentanyl into Huntsville. Authorities believe the drugs were intended for distribution across multiple North Alabama counties…
