Huntsville residents report sewage overflow from private mobile home community

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Homeowners in a south Huntsville neighborhood say they have been dealing with sewage overflow problems for years, and the issue has worsened in recent months.

The problem stems from Merrimack Manor, a privately owned mobile home community with its own private sewage lines. According to neighbors and a Huntsville city councilman, those lines are overflowing into neighboring communities.

Robert Oliver, who has lived in the area for 20 years, said the problem is located directly in his backyard. He said a ditch that is only supposed to carry rainwater is instead flowing with sewage from the Merrimack property…
