Gov. Braun to Newsmax: Indiana ‘Can Afford’ to Cut Gas Taxes

Indiana can afford to cut gasoline taxes because it is “a well-run state,” Republican Gov. Mike Braun told Newsmax Monday.

“We’re running state government more efficiently, so we can afford a reprieve on gas prices — 59 cents a gallon between the use tax and the excise tax. And in parts of where I live in southern Indiana, it was down as low as $3.39 over the weekend,” Braun told “Bianca Across the Nation.”

AAA reported that Indiana’s average price of $3.66 a gallon was the lowest in the nation. Braun said it was clear the rest of America had a current benchmark to reach…
