When I say Turkey Run State Park is like something out of a J.R.R. Tolkien novel — I definitely mean it. No exaggeration. Rolling, emerald embankments, photogenic cliffs covered in bright green moss… honestly, what more could you ask for? It’s rugged and dramatic landscape is an unexpected feature, especially in the Midwest, and while Turkey Run State Park is popular, it’s still a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to camping. So, how about we stay the night in this state park that looks and feels like Middle-earth in Indiana?

Camping Options For Every Type Of Outdoor Enthusiast

Camping at Turkey Run State Park, located off State Road 47 in Marshall, Indiana, is an incredible experience, and I think you’ll be just as obsessed as I am by the end of your first adventure. The Turkey Run State Park Campground is one of the most picturesque places for camping in Indiana.

No matter how you prefer to do your camping, there are plenty of options. There are 213 electric sites, six of which are ADA-accessible. For the kids, there are a few awesome youth tent camp areas. Campsites also come with fun amenities like a fire ring, a picnic table, and a convenient parking spur. There are also modern restrooms and a camp store that sells a varierty of provisions, including firewood, food, and more. The campground is open year-round and campsites can be reserved up to six months in advance. If you prefer more of a glamping experience, Turkey Run State Park has 20 cabin rooms and three cabins available for rent.

The Camp Store is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. (closed on Sundays). Visit the Turkey Run State Park Campground’s website for current store hours.
