Noblesville PD arrest 4 during targeted online predator investigation

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Over the course of a week, the Noblesville Police Department arrested four individuals during a targeted online predator investigation.

According to a news release from the department, officials stated that the investigation was designed to identify and apprehend individuals seeking to exploit minors.

Detectives reportedly posed as Noblesville teens on websites and online applications from July 13-16. Over this time, the release said numerous individuals communicated with the detectives “even after being informed repeatedly that they were interacting with someone underage.”

Four individuals were taken into custody after allegedly arranging meetings and demonstrating “intent to engage in unlawful sexual activity with the perceived minor,” the release said. The following individuals were arrested on the following preliminary charges:

Jamal Courtney

  • 44-year-old Fishers man preliminarily charged with:
    • One count of child solicitation, a Level 4 felony
    • One count of attempted sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony

Jun Jie Piao

  • 38-year-old Chicago man preliminarily charged with
    • One count of child solicitation, a Level 4 felony
    • One count of promotion of child sex trafficking, a Level 3 felony

Jordan Stites

  • 38-year-old Kokomo man preliminarily charged with:
    • One count of child solicitation, a Level 4 felony
    • One count of attempted sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony

Matthew Burton

  • 33-year-old Greenfield resident preliminarily charged with:
    • Attempted sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony
