EVANSVILLE – The number of Vanderburgh County residents infected by a diarrhea-causing parasite more than doubled over the weekend as cases in Indiana continue to spike.
Data reported to the Indiana Department of Health on Tuesday put the number of cyclosporiasis infections in Evansville at eight. Last week, the county had only tallied three.
That increase doesn’t keep pace with the state at large. As of July 23, the data listed on IDOH ‘s website listed the number of statewide cases at 594. By Tuesday, that had surged to 954, a 60% leap in less than a week. That’s 72 new cases per day…
