INDIANAPOLIS — A former daycare operator in Indianapolis has been charged in federal court after she reported that children attended her daycare when she knew they were not present, obtaining funds through government programs in the process.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana, 60-year-old Sharon Jackson, a Pendleton resident, was charged with one count of wire fraud and one count of failure to file an individual income tax return.

Between the years of 2017 and 2024, the release stated that Jackson operated three childcare facilities in Indianapolis, including:
- Precious Hearts of Solid Rock
- Greater St. Mark Five Star Ministry
- Little Angels of Precious Hearts
At this time, officials claim that Jackson fraudulently obtained funds through two government funds, including the Child Care and Development Fund and the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
