CRANE, Ind. (WFIE) – The Department of War is installing a nuclear reactor (called a Micro Modular Reactor, or MMR) at Naval Weapons Station Crane, by September 2028.
It’ll be Indiana’s first advanced nuclear reactor of any kind.
Officials say this will allow reliable power at the base that doesn’t depend on the commercial electric grid…
