Indiana nonprofits receive $38 million for veteran housing and support

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on Monday awarded $38 million in grants to 19 Indiana organizations working to help veterans who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes.

The funding is part of a record $1.17 billion in VA grants awarded to 680 organizations nationwide for fiscal year 2027.

The Indiana grants will support programs that help veterans avoid homelessness, find housing and remain in stable housing. The funding also will help organizations quickly house veterans and their families who are already homeless…
