Weisheit execution will move forward following failed Tennessee lethal injection

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Indiana Department of Correction says the state still plans to move forward with the execution of convicted murderer Jeffrey Weisheit following a failed lethal injection in neighboring Tennessee.

Eyewitness News reached out to IDOC Thursday after Tennessee officials were unable to complete the execution of death row inmate Christa Pike. Tennessee officials said Pike received two doses of pentobarbital during the attempted execution Wednesday. Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has since ordered a review of what happened and postponed the state’s remaining execution this year.
