Docs: Man struck pedestrian with truck on east side of Indianapolis, left scene of crash

INDIANAPOLIS — A Marion County man has been accused of leaving the scene of a serious crash.

According to court documents, 20-year-old Anthony Sandoval was involved in a crash in the 4500 block of East 10th Street at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2023.

After an investigation, detectives determined Sandoval was traveling west on East 10th Street when he struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway. Sandoval allegedly fled the scene westbound after striking the pedestrian.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s crash detectives recovered what they believed to be broken pieces of a headlight assembly at the scene. Per court documents, police later spoke with a crash witness, who told them the striking vehicle was a lifted black pickup truck with aftermarket rims.

Using license plate readers and intersection cameras, IMPD Officers determined the suspect vehicle was a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 registered to Sandoval. When detectives drove past Sandoval’s residence, they observed a black pickup truck with a broken headlight assembly.
