INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is asking the public to assist with its search for a wanted man.
According to an IMPD Facebook post , 21-year-old Joshua Chambers is wanted on a warrant for firearms and narcotics offenses. He was previously arrested in December 2022 and charged with the following:
- Dealing in methamphetamine
- Dealing in a controlled substance
- Possession of a narcotic drug
- Possession of a machine gun
- Unlawful carrying of a handgun
IMPD reported that a warrant was issued for Chambers’ arrest on Jan. 19 because a condition of his pretrial release was violated.
Officers attempted to stop a vehicle registered to Chambers near East 34th Street and North Keystone Avenue on Jan. 25, per IMPD. The vehicle — which police believe was occupied by Chambers — disregarded officers’ traffic stop attempt, fleeing the scene.
IMPD pursued the vehicle until it crashed near East 53rd Street and Central Avenue. Police indicated two individuals ran from the vehicle. IMPD reported that officers failed to locate the subjects that fled the scene of the crash.
