INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after crews had to pull a truck out of a retention pond early Monday morning on Indy’s northeast side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, around 3:30 a.m., crews responded to the area of East 75th Street and Shadeland Station Way on the report of a drive rescue.
When officers arrived, they located the truck entrenched in the water. Police say the driver was able to get out of the vehicle unharmed.
Investigators believe the driver of the vehicle drove through a stone barrier and a fence before landing in the pond.
According to a police report, officers arrested 46-year-old Tameika Danielson on:
– DWI/DUI/OWI with .15 or more .. prior conviction
– DWI/DUI/OWI no endangerment with prior conviction.
Police reports indicate Danielson was arrested back in 2018 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in Marion County. She was also arrested in Hamilton County in 2019 for a similar incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
