INDIANAPOLIS — After more than two weeks in the hospital, Indiana State Trooper Azariah Keith is now able to go home.
According to an update from the Indiana State Police, Keith was released from the hospital Monday afternoon after he spent 17 days in the hospital. Keith was hospitalized after he was hit by an SUV when he was helping change a flat tire in mid-January, according to previous reports .
“Trooper Keith was released from the hospital this afternoon after 17 days in the hospital,” Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine said in a statement. “He is ready to get home to his wife and two young children. He has a long road to recovery but remains optimistic and in good spirits.”

When he was in the hospital, Keith was presented with support, including a grant from the Injured First Responder Grant program through the Running 4 Heroes program , as well as other gifts of support.
“To see the outpouring of support for these first responders that when they get a glimmer of hope it kind of uplifts our spirits with them and we are able to show them more appreciation and more support,” David White, the secretary and treasurer with Running 4 Heroes, said at the time. “When they are happy, it makes me even more happy.”
