INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana State Police said the woman believed responsible for spray painting more than 50 vehicles in a downtown parking garage is under arrest after police spotted her near the statehouse.
Denise Honorio, 34, of Indianapolis was arrested on Wednesday afternoon by a Indiana State Capitol Police officer. Honorio was reportedly wearing the same clothes that she is pictured wearing during the Feb. 2 parking garage vandalism .
According to court documents, when the capitol police officer showed Honorio a surveillance photograph of the vandal suspect, Honorio told the officer the woman in the photograph was herself.
While searching Honorio, police found an Indiana driver’s license belonging to someone else. Police reached out to the owner of the license and discovered that on the same day of the vandalism, Honorio allegedly assaulted a woman who was walking along Capitol Avenue and stole her purse.
