MARION COUNTY, Ind. — A law enforcement official in Center Township has been charged with official misconduct and other felony charges after being arrested this week.
Center Township Constable Denise Paul Hatch, 64, was arrested Tuesday in connection to two criminal cases that have been filed in Marion County. She has been preliminarily charged with official misconduct, assisting a criminal and resisting law enforcement. All three charges are level 6 felonies. She has also been charged with theft, which is a misdemeanor.
The Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office and IMPD worked closely together on the investigation.
Last October, Hatch was at the center of a controversial dispute involving a law enforcement official following the arrest of Center Township Deputy Constable Craig Regans.
Police pulled over a 1994 Ford pickup truck that was being operated by Regans in the 4000 block of North High School Road. The license plate was expired and this led to police conducting a traffic stop and Regan’s truck was allegedly drifting in and out of traffic.
