Indianapolis man arrested after reportedly raping minor in a northwest side home

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man has been charged after he reportedly raped a minor while in a home on the northwest side of Indianapolis earlier this month.

According to court documents, filed on Tuesday in Marion County, Robert Lee was arrested and charged with:

  • One count of rape, a Level 3 felony
  • Three counts of criminal confinement, a Level 6 felony

On Sunday, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to a home in northwest Indianapolis on reports of a child molestation investigation. When an officer arrived at the home, he contacted the 911 caller, who was later found to be the 16-year-old victim.

The 16-year-old told the officer to knock on the front door. When no one answered the door, the officer reportedly called the 16-year-old back, who gave him the door code. The documents said that no one came to the door because a man, later identified as Lee, was preventing a family member of the 16-year-old from going to the door.
