Mylik Hill guilty of attempted murder of IMPD officer

INDIANAPOLIS — Mylik Hill was found guilty in the shooting of Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Thomas Mangan in February 2022.

Hill, 33, was convicted on all counts of attempted murder and resisting law enforcement following his trial this week.

In a statement on the verdict, the Fraternal Order of Police said:

“Tonight (2/15/2024) a Jury rendered a Verdict of Guilty for the Serious Violent Offender who shot IMPD Officer Tommy Mangan and attempted to shoot his Field Training Officer Dan Majors. Justice was served in this matter after 3 days of Trial (and 2 years of Tommy fighting for his recovery). We now await the sentencing of this Convicted Violent Offender and trust it will send a strong message to Indianapolis residents and the Officers who serve this community, that the sanctity of life is of the utmost value. An attack on an Officer is an attack on the community they protect and serve. We thank the Fountain Square neighborhoods, the residents of Indianapolis and all those (near and far) who stopped and prayed for Officer Mangan and his family. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”
