INDIANAPOLIS — A grieving mother is pleading for the public’s help with the unsolved murder of her son on Indy’s near west side.
Standing outside his work truck in the 900 block of Somerset Avenue on an early afternoon in mid-February 2023, witnesses said a 21-year-old was ambushed and killed.

The victim, who worked as a repairman, parked his work truck and stepped out to call his boss about a job in the area.
Witnesses said that’s when he was shot by two suspects who have still never been caught.
“It just came out of nowhere. Two masked men ran up behind the truck and shot Taylor,” said the victim’s mother, Ashley Parman.
Parman admitted she is still mourning the death of her son, Taylor Miller, a full year later.
“I struggle every single day. I think of Taylor every single day,” said Parman.
Before his death, Taylor lived in Tipton with his fiancée.
Because he didn’t have a criminal history, it’s still not clear why he was killed.
