Curry was charged with auto theft and resisting law enforcement in connection with the June 2023 chase and crash.
He was a passenger in a stolen vehicle at the center of a police pursuit. Troopers chased the SUV to Ronald Reagan Parkway, where Trooper Aaron Smith was attempting to deploy stop sticks near the entrance to the I-70 westbound ramp.
Video showed the SUV swerve toward Smith, who was sent airborne. The vehicle then crashed. Smith, 33, died from his injuries.
