IMPD: Descriptive 911 call leads to arrest after east side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS — A 33-year-old was arrested after a reported shooting on the east side of Indianapolis on Tuesday, according to a social media post by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Just before 12 p.m. on Tuesday, officers with the department’s east district were dispatched to the 2100 block of N Dequincy Street on a shots fired call. Multiple 911 callers reported that a man in a blue shirt who was driving a red sedan with a cracked windshield had fired shots in the direction of a woman in a driveway.

When officers arrived in the area, they reportedly spotted a red car with a cracked windshield traveling toward them. The officers then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was reportedly being driven by 33-year-old Ledarius Crenshaw, who was then detained.

The post read that officers located multiple shell casings in the street, as well as a vehicle that had been hit by gunfire. When officers searched Crenshaw’s vehicle, a handgun was reportedly located inside.
