Indy teen arrested for possession of firearms, drug dealing

INDIANAPOLIS — Officers busted a teen for reportedly dealing narcotics and the illegal possession of firearms.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested the 16-year-old suspect for:

  • Dangerous Possession of a Firearm
  • Auto Theft
  • Dealing in a Controlled Substance while Armed

Officers were dispatched in early June to the 200 block of N Hendricks Place on a report of shots fired in the backyard residence. Upon arrival, officers located and collected multiple expended shell casings in the rear of the residence.

Upon further investigation at the same home on June 20, detectives observed the suspect leave the vehicle and enter the Hendricks Place home with firearms in his waistband and a large bag.

According to IMPD, officials surrounded the house and began making announcements for any individuals in the home to exit. An adult female, four children, and the teen suspect left the home with their hands raised.

In a search warrant of the home, crews discovered:

  • 10 firearms
  • 12 grams of crack cocaine
  • 564 grams of marijuana
  • 20 suspected narcotic pills
  • Pill presses
  • $4,654 in cash
