INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man recently arrested in relation to a deadly triple shooting in April has been arrested again for another homicide, according to a social media post by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Homicide detectives arrested 26-year-old Gerald Hatcher on Thursday in relation to the May homicide of 25-year-old Yasar Burnett on the city’s far south side.
IMPD makes arrest in deadly triple shooting from April
Just after 3:30 p.m. on May 6, officers with the department’s southwest district were dispatched to the 900 block of W. Stop 11 Road on a report of a vehicle going off the road and into a yard. When officers arrived, they located Burnett who was shot. Burnett was later pronounced dead at the scene.
After an investigation, IMPD homicide detectives were able to identify Hatcher as a suspect in the incident, the department said in the social media post.
