Aliyah Boston Hit with Technical Foul for Intense Stare-Down with Ref

Indiana Fever fans start feeling angsty anytime the words technical foul are mentioned.

Mostly because Caitlin Clark is dangerously close to hitting the number of technicals that will trigger a one-game suspension, but also because the Fever have been on the wrong end of some questionable calls.

That was the case during the Fever’s matchup with the Minnesota Lynx on Friday when forward Aliyah Boston was assessed a technical after staring down an official following a no-call as she was essentially mugged under the basket by Bridget Carelton and Napheesa Collier.

Boston’s frustration boiled over moments after as she clapped her hands and let the ref know she wasn’t pleased with them swallowing the whistle.

It was Boston’s third technical of the season, putting her four away from having to serve a suspension. Conversely, Clark is just two away.

Though the Fever ultimately ended up on the losing side, Boston finished with 20 points, five rebounds and two assists. It was the second straight game she reached to 20-point plateau and just the fifth time she did so this season.
