Dozens of Indiana House legislative races are contested this fall. Is yours on the list?

All 100 Indiana House seats are up for election this year, and nearly 70 of those races have more than one candidate.

Here’s a rundown of the 25 contested races that include at least of a portion of Boone, Brown, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Putnam or Shelby counties. Those counties in the Indianapolis Metropolitan Statistical Area have 2.1 million people.

District 24

Republican Rep. Donna Schaibley announced in October she would not run for reelection as representative for District 24, which includes portions of Boone and western Hamilton counties, leaving an open seat.

Josh Lowry

Democrat Josh Lowry is a former deputy attorney general. Lowry is also a competitive bodybuilder and a foster parent and plays recreational soccer.

Hunter Smith

Republican Hunter Smith is a former Indianapolis Colts punter and graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He is owner and operator of WonderTree Farm.

District 25

District 25 includes portions of Boone and Hendricks counties.
