Colts rookie center to make first-career start as injury replacement

The Indianapolis Colts will turn to rookie center Tanor Bortolini to make his first career start against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4.

With veteran starter Ryan Kelly inactive due to a neck injury, the Colts will turn to their fourth-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft as a replacement.

Bortolini was one of the top picks for the Colts on Day 3 of the draft. He brought vast experience playing all over the offensive line during his collegiate career at Wisconsin.

With Kelly set to be a free agent during the 2025 offseason, many believe Bortolini is the successor to anchor the offensive line should the former depart in free agency.

Bortolini has been a healthy scratch in each of the first three regular-season games but now will get to make his first impression on the coaching staff in a pivotal game against the Steelers.

The Colts are pretty banged up going into this Week 4 matchup. They will be without edge rushers Kwity Paye and Samson Ebukam, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, and cornerbacks Kenny Moore II and JuJu Brents.
