When is Halloween? And will Indiana’s weather trick or treat Hoosiers this year?

Hoosiers dressed as monsters, ghouls and more than a few Deadpools will be out trick-or-treating Halloween night . But they’ll be doing so in Indiana, where the weather can go from ‘chill’ to bone- chilling faster than you can gobble down a snack-sized Kit-Kat.

Indianapolis had a snowy Halloween last year . While 2024’s forecast looks mild (so far), it’s always possible our Midwest weather could surprise us.

Here’s what we know about this year’s forecast and what Hoosiers can likely expect at the end of October.

Halloween is not an official federal holiday (sadly), but most Americans consider it to be a holiday.

Halloween 2024 weather forecast for Central Indiana

AccuWeather predicts Indianapolis will see highs around 66 degrees Thursday, Oct. 31, with lows hitting around 47, according to its extended forecast. Chances of rain are at 25% with 4 mph winds from the southwest.

The Weather Channel, however, has a slightly cooler outlook . Their monthly forecast predicts Indianapolis will have Halloween temperatures with highs of 58 degrees and lows closer to 38 degrees. There are no rain probabilities.
