LANSING, Mich. (WLUC) – The State of Michigan is working to make buying a house a little easier for first-time home buyers. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank Indianapolis) partnered with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) to launch the Rate Relief Mortgage Program on Tuesday. The new program will allow qualified low-income first-time homebuyers to reduce the cost of their mortgage by one full percentage point if they finance through a MSHDA-approved lender that also is a FHLBank Indianapolis member.
