Indy man convicted of murder while wearing GPS monitor

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man has been found guilty of killing another man during a heated exchange two years ago.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office announced Wednesday that David Ice was convicted for the murder of Darryl Ransom following the conclusion of a two-day jury trial.

According to previous reports , officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched on June 3, 2022, around 10:20 p.m. to a residence on North Dearborn Street in response to reports that a person had been shot.

When officers arrived on the scene to investigate, they reportedly discovered multiple .45 caliber shell casings.

MCPO said detectives spoke with Ransom’s son who told them he was upstairs inside the residence when he overheard the victim speaking with someone. He reported seeing a man, who was later identified as Ice, wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants and having a conversation with his father.
