Indianapolis had a cold, snowy Halloween in 2023, and this year it might have a wet one.

As of Friday, the latest National Weather Service forecast for Central Indiana is predicting a 70% chance of precipitation Thursday, Oct. 31, and with possible showers during trick-or-treating hours. Granted, this is the Midwest; the weather has a mind of its own and could surprise us.

Central Indiana could see record high temperatures followed by a Halloween cold front

Trick-or-treaters won’t be the only thing outside Hoosiers’ front doors this Halloween. Meteorologists are predicting a cold front to arrive in Central Indiana by Oct. 31. That’s in stark contrast to the nearly record high temperatures the area might see ahead of Thursday, according to NWS .

Forecasters predict Tuesday and Wednesday could see record highs of above 80 degrees, according to a social media post by NWS Indianapolis. Wind gusts also could hit 40 mph. Then by Thursday, conditions are expected to cool down with a chance for showers.
