Man killed in shooting at east side plasma center

Live from scene: IMPD officer talks about fatal shooting at blood plasma center

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man died Tuesday afternoon after being fatally shot near an east side plasma donation center.

A post on X from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says officers were in the 3600 block of North Post Road following an unspecified incident, which they later said was a fatal shooting.

Online police reports show sometime around 2:40 p.m., police were called to a shooting at the Grifols Biomat USA-Plasma Donation Center at 3620 N. Post Rd.

Officers told News 8 at the scene that when they arrived, they located a man inside the business dead from a gunshot wound.

According IMPD Ofc. Drew Brown, police later learned of a possible person of interest in the 7500 block of Ruskin Place. That person was taken into custody and is being questioned.

IMPD says there is no threat to the public, and emphasized the incident was not a police shooting. Investigators say they were speaking with several witnesses inside the plasma center. It was unclear if either suspect or victim were hooked up to any plasma machines or if they knew each other.
