Rape, battery accusations

IMPD officers were called late last Friday, Nov. 8, to a home near 10th Street and North Tibbs Avenue for a reported rape in progress. A caller told 911 dispatch that she was raped several times and that her husband had been choked with an extension cord.

Upon arrival, officers saw a woman running out of the back door of the house. She came into contact with police and told them that a man named James Taylor had raped her and strangled her husband inside the house.

The suspect, James Taylor, was still on scene when officers arrived. He was taken into custody while detectives interviewed the female victim.
