Car crashes into south side elementary school

INDIANAPOLIS – A car crashed into an elementary school Sunday morning on the south of Indianapolis.

It happened just before 1:30 a.m. at Winchester Village Elementary School on Located at 1900 East Stop 12 Road.

Crews were dispatched to the are for possible structure collapse. No injuries were reported, according to police.

Officials say a car with two people inside was heading down a hill when the car crashed into the school building, police say.

Investigators believe distracted driving may have played a factor in the crash. However officials do not believe alcohol played a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
