A tragic accident in Shelby County claimed the life of a driver on Christmas Eve when their vehicle collided with a tree, according to officials from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department. The mishap, which occurred around 2:30 p.m. near the crossing of County Roads 900 North and 675 West, northwest of Fairland, involved a single car that initially veered off the road, and despite the driver’s attempt to correct the path, the vehicle subsequently struck a tree, WTHR reported.
