HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Tri-State is preparing for what could be a major winter storm this weekend.
“We are all aware that something is coming,” says Gary Brian, the Public Relations of INDOT Southwest.
Although we are still several days away, shoppers are already preparing for the storm system’s potential impacts. At Sureway in Henderson, the staff is working to keep shelves stocked for customers.
“We get a bunch of food because we tend to get snowed in, or iced in our house. We are making soups and getting blankets out of the closet,” says Sunie Buckman, a shopper at Sureway.
Another store seeing more shoppers bracing for the winter weather is Menards in Evansville. We saw lots of salt, antifreeze, and ice scrapers. One customer we spoke with says she drove from Illinois to get more deicer.
“He {my husband} got the snow blower out and primed up and ready to go, and has plugged in some tractors so they will be ready to start and drag the streets or anything, and we have ice melt out by the back door,” says Jennifer Bean, a shopper at Menards.
